Janina Janina(First Bengali Cover)

Thanks to Murali Venkataraman for introducing me a beautiful collection of bangla songs of Haimonti shukla. And today is an occasion for posting this song. Its Murali’s birthday, Happy Birthday Murali:)

I was mesmerized very much by a song, went ahead to make a karaoke track for it. I had no idea of the lyrics then. Murali knows all those songs by heart , so he helped me initially. Later came the saviour, Soumitra ji who was so helpful with the diction, patiently heard my versions over n over n corrected the mistakes. Thanks a ton Ji! Still, please forgive my diction issues my dear bengali friends n correct me as much as possible. I have tried the song with less punch ins n less mistakes hopefully.

Kumaran gave me a helping hand in mixing the song, though sum issues were there w.r.t synching, he has tried his best! Thanks a lot!

Here is my humble attempt of a brilliant song! Listen and post ur valuable feedback!

Kadhal Oviyam(Cover with Murali Venkataraman)

This is an evergreen hit from the Maestro n my first cover with Murali Venkataraman. Meera heard our previous version and suggested harmonies can be added. She was very sweet enuf to sing the wonderful harmonies along with me and do the toughest part – Mixing. Thank you so much Meera:) It was Murali’s idea to involve Vamsi to do the initial slokam part. I had a recording issue and its evident at some places. Here is our attempt. Do listen n leave ur feedback.

Dhoore Kizhakudikin(My first malayalam cover)

I have always wanted to sing malayalam songs. And I had few in pipeline. Kumaran introduced me to this simple song which happens to be a nostalgic song for malayalees. I liked the song n especially the k-track very much(chorus portions are really nice). I enjoyed doing this song. Do listen n leave ur feedback.

Adi Aathadi(Ilayaraja cover with Srini)

Another evergreen folk hit by the Maestro. I discovered most of the IR melodies in the late 90’s. I had envied my college mate Anitha sing this song beautifully, its range n melody n harmonies were pretty challenging to me. More challenging was recording this with my son growing naughtier day by day. Here is my attempt. Thanks Srini, you did a great job.

Guys, you all know mixing is a trouble for some ppl ever since. We mixed our voices separately. So please bear with it, listen n leave your thoughts. Thanks.

Vizhiyil Vizhundhu - Alaigal Oivadhillai(Music: Ilayaraja)

This song is one of my all time favorites of our Maestro Ilayaraja. I was very much inspired and could not wait to try this after listening to Meera’s rendition. She was so brilliant. Thanks to her for sharing the track, which is done by Murali Venkataraman. Srinivas has done the Ilayaraja’s portions and his voice has suited aptly to this song. I tried mixing the song myself for the first time and special credits to Srividya Kasturi who taught me the basics.

Anul mele panithuli(Cover)

This song sounded a mix of many harris jeyaraj songs initially and never impressed me. I love Sudha Raghunathan for her classical songs and I listened to this one only after having found the k-track. Initially I though this song is not so challenging, especially when sudha has sung it. But I adored her brilliant plain singing without many subtleties and that itself was a challenge. Here is my attempt.

Chalo tumko lekar chale(Cover) from the movie Jism

Thanks to NVK for sharing the karoke track. Thanks to Shrikanth and Murali for helping me technically. This is the first song I recorded with my new SM58 Shure mic using Audacity software. I did struggle with a lot of technical problems, somehow finally got this done. My brother, Rajesh helped me with the mixing of this song. Please listen to it and leave your valuable comments which will help me improve.

Kuzhaloodhum kannanukku

This is a wonderful song sung by Chinna kuyil Chitra. I tried to attempt it in the original pitch itself. But I am not at all satisfied with the output. I lost sruthi in many places. Still I wanted to post it because I would avoid my mistakes carrying the valuable feedback of the bloggers in mind.. Thanks to Ameer who recorded n mixed this song for me..
